Flags of the States
Flag of Drexik
Legend has it that King Mortsik I's father, after being killed in a battle against Keekmiké, was placed in a makeshift box which was then wrapped in a white sheet until the body could be returned to Wexja. When the sheet was removed before burial, Mortsik discovered that his father's blood had drained through the bottom most edges, making an X. When Mortsik took the throne, he flew this flag to represent the blood of his fathers. When Mortsik converted to Chruisianity, the flag also became associated with that religion and has been called St. Mortsik's cross.
Flag of Keekmiké
The red in the flag of Keekmiké is also believed to be associated with blood. King Graeduus, Keekmiké's first king, is said to have been injured in a battle against Derexik (possibly the same one as in the Drexik legend). While recovering, Graeduus was placed in a medical tent that was splattered with the the blood of the dead and stained red. Graeduus was in the tent for 9 days and 10 nights. The flag was later composed in order to represent the night sky Graeduus could see through the gap in the tent as he recovered.
Flag of Ilelae
This flag, adopted before Ilelae converted to Cruisianity, features the red and yellow colors of Krashkaenism running in diagonal stripes. It is unclear where the design came from, though there is a story that King Orodek I commisioned an artisan to design a flag for the kingdom. When the artisan returned with an overly elaborate flag design, Orodek cut out the part containing this design and used only that.
Flag of Yipilelae
The Flag of Yipilelae was adopted shortly after the state was created following the end of the Knabian Civil War. It is clearly modified from the Flag of Ilelae, containing only three red stripes on a field of yellow to signify relationship to Ilelae and the lost lives during the Civil War. The red star is symbolic of Krashkaenism and represents the Krash star Krashkaenites belive human beings came from.
Flag of Uprush
Uprush, gained and lost as part of different Knabian kingdoms as well as the Empire and other nearby peoples, chose this flag when it became a state after the Civil War to represent the various ethnic and historical backgrounds of its people.
Flag of the Inner Knabian Territories
The Flag of the Inner Knabian Territories is a remnant of the age of the Knabian Empire and was designed to be clearly distinguishable at a distance. It features the Imperial Knabian Flag in the union with white waves and a Ferig Knabiara.
Military
War Flag of The Republic of Knabia
This flag is flown by all state and government agencies in place of the national flag when Parliament has declared war. It also functions as the state and military jack during wartime. It consists of a Flag of the Republic defaced with a Ferig Knabiara at the center.
Ensign of the Knabian Revolutionary Guard
Flown at all army bases and offices of the Revolutionary Guard. It can be flown by itself, though more commonly underneath the national or war flag. In battle, however, only the national or war flag is carried.
Ensign of the Republican Navy
This ensign is flown by all naval vessels when underway (the jack is flown in port and when dressed for ceremony). A considerably larger "battle ensign" is raised when a naval ship is engaged in battle.
Ensign of the Republican Air Force
This ensign is flown at all RAF bases alone or underneath the national or war flag. Planes are usually marked with the national flag as the fin flash rather than the ensign.
Roundels of the Republican Air Force
All RAF planes are marked on the fuselage, bottom of the left wing, and top of the right wing, with this roundel. The roundel to the right is used on low-visibility planes.
